Maybe you’ve gone through the hard part of your renovation – walls have come down, moved, or been constructed, the dust has been swept up, and the new paint smell has started to subside. Now it’s time to think about how to really complete the look of your home – and few things make a space feel complete like artwork. However, finding those perfect art pieces that go with the style of your home and reflect your personal taste isn’t always easy, especially if you’re an art novice.
Fortunately, original art bigwig Saatchi Art is here to help. Their app includes a “view in a room” feature, which lets you see how a piece would look in your home by “virtually hanging” it on your wall with your phone’s camera. You can also work one-on-one with a personal curator to receive art options tailored to you. According to Design&Trend, Saatchi Art is also launching a new business division headed by art and interior design advisor Haley Miner. The company’s new platform is said to be targeted toward interior designers and architects.
Speaking of trying out new apps, in case you haven’t heard, Kukun’s premium features are available for free, for a limited time. Thinking of just updating cabinets and floors, but leaving the rest of your kitchen alone? With our Personalized Estimate feature, you can easily discover what your partial-room renovation will cost. And with the Projected Home Value tool, you can see how that project will change the value of your home in just a few clicks. Sound good? Get started here.
Art was definitely a focus at the Miami Home Design and Remodeling show last week. An area of the event called The Urban ArtSpace showcased popular Miami street artists like Don Rimx, and more artists were found in the At Home with Art space. Artistic home furnishings were also on display, including works from Dezign Nine and funky polycarbonate chairs from Ciacci. Check out the Miami Herald’s slideshow to discover more of the event’s innovative art and stunning products for your abode.
If it’s your home (or away) office that needs a little design and renovation love, you may want to head to Santa Clara, California, between Sept. 23 and Oct. 2.
