The ROI is based on real estate activity in your area. Permit data and home sales history are used to calculate the equity. Ready to Sell
A “Ready to Sell” full bathroom renovation offers the best return on your investment without needing a permit. Items might include flooring, countertops, faucets, a new toilet, light fixtures, paint and hardware. This level is perfect for those who are preparing to sell their home and tends to be cosmetic in nature so the home will present well.
A “Typical Renovation” full bathroom renovation involves mostly new work and materials, from the drywall to the fixtures. Items will probably include new electrical, plumbing, some HVAC, insulation, drywall, texture, paint, cabinets, countertops, flooring, a bathtub, trim work, ceramic tile work, new fixtures and hardware. A permit is required if walls are moved or anything is done with the plumbing or electrical.
Down to the Studs
A “Down to the Studs” full bathroom renovation includes everything from the “Typical Renovation” level, plus some interior structural rearrangement, new doors and windows, custom materials, longer lead times and stretched job timelines. Here, you will require a permit. This is the level you need to strip all your walls.
