The floor plan

Due to the dimensions of the room, our architect recommends that the room be used by children who are over eight years of age for safety purposes.

The color scheme

This fun guest bedroom design has been created with a beach style theme in mind. The wall color is a soft turquoise color to represent the sea. The same color has been used in the ceiling too – giving the room a cohesive, cabin look.

Our architect has also used white paint color to add to the room’s unique color palette. The sooting room feels as though you’re by the ocean.

Furthermore, there’s sufficient space in the room to accommodate beds, other room furniture, and open shelving for the television, and entertainment equipment – all in the same color scheme.

The guest room lighting

The room is very bright – thanks to the many LED lights installed. Some are placed strategically to highlight the shelves with decorative elements. And, there are two elongated windows at the back of the room to let in ventilation and natural light.

We like how there are two unique industrial iron lamps hanging from the ceiling to add to the ambient light. When the light falls on the walls, the effect is quite surreal.

The interior decoration

The unique color palette of light and dark turquoise blue along with white makes the guest room stand out.

Our architect has used white predominantly with turquoise accents even in the pieces of furniture such as beds, desks, sofas, bookshelves, and chairs.

The two-tone wood flooring gives the room a rustic cabin look – without going overboard on the finishes.

It’s interesting how the expert has brought in marine decor items such as ships, rudders, boats, stars, seahorses, snails, whales, and fish in white.

Moreover, you can see lovely textiles in the room through the area rug, bedspreads, blankets, pillows, cushions, sofa seats, and puffs. Additional colors such as gray, green, violet, orange, and sky blue offer a lovely contrast. And yet, provide a sense of harmony to the design.

The printed colorful rug is 6.56ft x 4.92ft and the two orange beanbags have a diameter of 1.48ft and a height of 1.48ft. The two-seater sofa under the large window is decorated with cushions with a nautical theme.

The room furniture

Most of the room furniture is multifunctional. The bunk beds, for example, have shelf storage at the bottom measuring 4.18ft x 8.04ft and a desk with shelves, and raised bed of 4.18ft x 8.53ft. There’s no separate need for bedside tables or a coffee table.

Towards the right, you can see two black metal windows of 5.25ft x 1.97 ft which allow good lighting at the desk area.

The bunk beds measure up to their top level of headboards at 6.00ft. And, the four-step ladder to climb the bed measures 1.48ft x 5.25ft.

The very interesting desk surface (6.56ft x 1.80ft, at a height of 2.30ft) has two modern chairs made of steel rods for writing, drawing, and reading.

The other two bunks on the sides measure 8.04ft x 4.18ft and have a single shelf at the bottom of the 0.98ft headboard. And, the bed frame measures 7.05ft x 4.18ft while the shelves are of dimensions 3.61ft x 1.31ft.

The height of the lower bed is 1.48ft and the space between one bed and the other is 3.12ft.

Room storage

The storage shelves have varying depths between 0.16ft and 0.98ft for storing toys, quilts, and books. The lower part of the white shelf for the entertainment area has a low chest of drawers measuring 5.25ft x 1.48ft with a height of 1.31ft.

Furthermore, the storage area has open shelves with a width of 0.33ft to 0.98ft. These shelves are great for storing home decoration items, books, plants, and toys. You can easily place a 40-inch TV for watching movies or playing video games.

baseboard in guest bedroom

This guest bedroom design is minimalist yet stylish. We love how the baseboards, moldings, and doors are in white contrast with the dark of the windows and the ceiling lamps. The very interesting white curved ceiling design element adds to the room’s charm. It measures 5.58ft x 10.47ft with a thickness of 0.033ft to 0.16ft. The frame moldings are 0.16ft. And, the baseboards are 0.49ft.

So much blue makes my eyes hurt, I should use a less garish color, although I do like the design
